Why this matters now
CBAM is in its definitive phase. Certificate purchases begin in 2027, with the first declaration and surrender deadline on 30 September 2027. The data you capture today determines your compliance position when it counts.
The CBAM Timeline
Three critical phases between now and the end of 2027. Where you are in your preparation determines how each phase impacts your business.
2026
Capture Liabilities
Liability is accruing on qualifying imports but no certificate purchase is required yet. This is your window to build supplier data and establish your compliance baseline.
2027
Certificates & Declarations
First year of actual certificate purchases for 2026 imports. The 50% quarterly holding rule applies. First annual declaration and surrender deadline is 30 September 2027.
Oct/Nov 2027
Reconciliation
31 October is the deadline to request repurchase of excess certificates. From 1 November, unsurrendered certificates are cancelled without refund. Organisations with clean data will navigate this seamlessly.

The Preparation Advantage
Organisations that start capturing data now will be in a fundamentally stronger position when compliance obligations begin.
Significantly Reduce Manual Effort
Stop manually tracking declarations across spreadsheets. Integrin automates document processing, liability calculations, and reporting — freeing your team to focus on what matters.
Intelligent Automation
Smart document processing and CN code validation against the EU tariff database reduce manual effort and catch errors before they become problems. Cost projections reflect the latest EU regulation parameters, keeping your liability estimates current.
Avoid Costly Compliance Gaps
Organisations that wait until certificates are required risk incomplete data, inaccurate liabilities, and potential penalties. Starting now means you'll have a complete, auditable trail when reconciliation begins.
The preparation window is open. The question isn't whether you need CBAM compliance — it's whether you'll be ready when it counts.
